Please review the following frequently asked questions about the 22nd Symposium.
Question: What does the registration fee cover? Answer: Registration fees are utilized to cover expenses related to the production of the NCA Development and Training Symposium, such as audio/visual and facilities. Registration fees are not used for any food or beverages provided during the event. Question: Question: What methods are available for paying the registration fee? Answer: Attendees can pay the registration fee via credit card (Visa or MasterCard only), Command Purchase Card or SF-182. Any commands wishing to use the purchase card may fill out the credit card authorization form on the NCA website. All completed credit card authorization forms and SF-182s can be scanned and emailed to the NCA treasurer at treasurer@usnca.org. Ensure that the service members have registered online prior to sending the payment and include the registration number on the form or in the email. SF-182s and credit card authorization forms will be charged immediately. Receipts will be forwarded to the POC for the command and online registration will be updated to reflect as registration being paid. Question: If I indicate on my registration that my CMC is attending does a separate registration need to be completed for the CMC? Answer: Yes all attendees must submit individual registration. The CMC information is requested on all registration to establish senior leadership POC for all attendees. Question: How do I submit a scholarship application? Answer: You can submit your scholarship application through your Local Chapter or directly to the National NCA President National Headquarters, P.O. Box 15233, Norfolk, VA 23511-0233. Review the NCA 21st Symposium NAVADMIN for more details. Question: What credit cards will you accept for registration fees or items purchased at the NCA Ship Store? Answer: We will only accept Visa and Mastercard for payments or purchases. Question: Can I purchase annual or lifetime membership at the symposium? Answer: Yes. Anyone can purchase membership during the event. However, the NCA committees are able to get a better estimate of the new and renewing members if you purchase via the registration process online. Lifetime membership can only be purchased through your local chapter, national treasurer or at the symposium. Lifetime membership can only be purchased if you have the last five years in good standing and rates vary according to your at age at the time of purchase. Question: How do I know if I have five years of good standing with the NCA? Answer: You can email the National NCA Secretary at secretary@usnca.org. She will be able to assist you with that information. Question: I am a military organization that wants to have an exhibitor booth at the 21st Symposium. Who should I contact? Answer: All military and civilian exhibitors/sponsors need to contact the National Sponsor Coordinator, NCCS Tammy Long at sponsor@usnca.org or 760-763-7073. Question: What is the uniform during the week? Answer: For presentations and the banquet, E6 and below are authorized to wear the new service (khaki and black) uniform or summer whites. E7 and above khakis. The Socials are casual attire. Question: I am not going to be attending the Symposium, but would still like to become or renew my membership. How can I do this? Answer: You can download the membership application from the membership link on the NCA website. Mail it with your membership dues to the NCA National Headquarters at PO Box 15233, Norfolk, VA 23511-0233. The NCA Secretary will process your request and mail your membership card to the address provided on your application. Question: Do I need a rental car during the symposium? Answer: No. A rental car is not required during the symposium. The NCA will be providing shuttle service to and from the airport on 27 June and 1 July. The Symposium is held at the Marriott hotel. The Sheraton hotel is around the corner and a 5 minute walk. Question: If I complete the online registration process will I have to register for the sympoium once I arrive at the hotel? Answer: Yes. All attendees will need to check-in at the Symposium registration desk. At this time you will be given your Welcome bag and marked as present. Sponsors and exhibitors will check in with the Sponsor coordinators. Question: What happens if my command does not turn on my Government Travel Credit Card by 25 June? Answer: If your GTCC is not turned on by 25 June your registration fee will not be paid. If this happens you will have to pay at the Symposium manually. You will not be admitted into the General Assembly until you are registered. |
